Spam (the meat) museum moved to new location

Make fun of it if you will, but Spam has fueled American troops and been a low-cost, albeit interesting, source of protein for nearly 80 years.

The mystery meat-in-a-can is made of six simple ingredients: pork, water, salt, sugar, sodium nitrate and potato starch. According to an article by NBC News, it's now sold in more than 40 countries.

"We're 'spamming' the globe," said Jim Snee, president and chief operating office of Homel Foods, which produces the processed pink pork product.

The Spam Museum is a slice of Americana in Austin, Minn., stated the article. "It was housed at one location in the town for nearly 15 years, but now has a new home near the town's Main Street."

At the museum, Spam enthusiasts can have their taste buds satisfied by "Spambassadors" who hand out samples.
