U.S. CattleTrace Symposium To Bring Unique Opportunity
The 2023 U.S. CattleTrace Symposium will be held on November 14-15 at the American Royal Center in Kansas City, MO. This two-day event will bring together beef industry stakeholders to learn more about U.S. CattleTrace and explore innovative solutions for rapid response during animal disease events. The symposium will conclude with the election of incoming chairmen for the organization.
New to this year's symposium is a tabletop exercise that simulates the benefits of U.S. CattleTrace's end-to-end cattle disease traceability system. This exercise will provide critical tools for managing a disease outbreak. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in and observe the U.S.'s current response plans for a potential foreign animal disease outbreak. They will also witness a demonstration showcasing how U.S. CattleTrace can enhance the current response in the event of an outbreak.
This one-of-a-kind exercise aims to bring together individuals from the entire beef supply chain, including producers, animal health officials, meat processors, retailers, and allied industry members. The goal is to enhance traceability practices and ensure the continued safety and quality of the U.S. beef supply.

This year’s symposium provides a unique opportunity for participants to understand the potential impacts of a foreign animal disease on the supply chain and how we can better prepare ourselves as an industry to make traceability a reality,” said Callahan Grund, Executive Director U.S. CattleTrace.
