Tyson Breaks Ground on New Incubation Center in Arkansas
Construction is beginning for a new Tyson Foods Inc. incubation center in Springdale, Ark.
The company broke ground on the 75,000-square-foot project on Thursday. The company says the incubation center will deliver hatching operations for the company's northwest Arkansas broiler chicken business.
Once completed next year, the center will replace Tyson's existing hatcheries in Lincoln and Springdale. It's expected to employ 35 people once it's fully operational.
Tyson says the new center will be built with an emphasis on technology, including the use of robotics to assist with worker safety and ergonomics. Tyson says the facility will use the latest biosecurity measures to promote overall bird health.
Tyson employs more than 6,000 people in Springdale and nearly 23,000 people in Arkansas.
