7th Gardiner Angus ‘Meating Demand’ Bull Sale Averages $6,718

Gardiner Angus Ranch’s 7th Annual “Meating Demand” sale was held May 2 at the ranch near Ashland, Kansas. This annul sale offers ranchers the practicality to select bulls, ready to go to work, closer to their spring turnout dates. These GAR bulls must meet the same rigorous criteria as the bulls offer in all other GAR sales.

The average of the 164 bulls offered in the “Meating Demand” Sale ranked in the top 3% of the Angus breed for marbling, top 7% for ribeye, and top 15% for calving ease and growth.

Seventy-nine 20-month-old registered bulls grossed $549,250 to average $6,953 per head. Eighty-five 14-16-month-old registered bulls grossed $552,500 to average $6,500. A total of 164 bulls sold for an average of $6,718.

The high-selling bull was lot 2, GAR Home Town 720G at $17,000.

Additionally, 112 bred commercial Angus heifers sold for a total of $268,500 to average $2,397 per head. Complete sale results here.
