Corbitt Wall with USDA Markets News gives the weekly Stocker and Feeder Cattle Summary for the week ending June 13.

The feeder cattle market rally continues with a $10 jump this week. Cattle in the Mid-West and Great Plains regions—areas near the major grazing regions—jumped a full $5 to $10 higher this week. While we saw a mile-stone last week, it’s no longer big news this week. This is an example of how fast this market is moving. Wall says what was big news last week is no big deal this week.

El Reno quoted some fancy steers weighing 975 as $189.25 and that, Wall says, could be the bell ringer this week. Also, $2 is still the major mile-stone with 8-wieght cattle. While there are some ranchers still sitting on dry land, many of the high-production areas have seen a lot of rain making forage, feed and demand plentiful.
