Knowing, Growing and Grazing Grass Webinar Series Hosted by Nebraska Extension

Would you like to grow your grass knowledge and better understand range and pasture resources?

University of Nebraska Extension will be hosting a six-session interactive webinar series on Monday and Thursday evenings October 14, 17, 21, 24, 28, and 31 from 7:30 - 8:45 p.m. CT that will explain the basics of knowing, growing and grazing grass. Sessions will be recorded and available for review after each meeting.

Topics to be covered will include:

• Identifying key grass species in your pastures.

• Understanding the factors that influence grass growth and vigor on your operation.

• Calculating stocking rates and what the numbers mean for grazing management.

• Developing a grazing plan for your resource base with decision dates for drought.

• Utilizing web soil survey to see what grass production could be.

• Understanding Pasture Range and Forage Insurance as a risk management tool.

Registrants will receive a 3-ring binder with handouts, resource guides, Extension Circulars, and a copy of the book Grassland Plants of South Dakota and the Northern Great Plains, The course will be limited to 30 participants.
