Declining cattle numbers and strong consumer demand continued to set the pace for beef and cattle markets into Father’s Day weekend with the Comprehensive Beef Cutout averaging a record high $367.51/cwt. for the week.
Packers paying a record $239.91/cwt. average price for steers continued to realize their margins deep into red ink with losses averaging -$278/head while feedlot margins averaged an estimated $839/head.
