Sonja Begemann provides information about seeds, chemicals and anything that affects crop production. A recent graduate of the University of Missouri (Science and Agricultural Journalism), Sonja is excited to help provide farmers with information they need to know. She has a strong background in row crop production and learned valuable agronomic skills in corn, soybeans, sorghum and alfalfa. Her roots in agriculture began with both of her grandparents, who were corn and soybean farmers and continued to grow throughout her childhood on a small family farm where she raised chickens and pigs for 4-H and FFA. When Sonja looks to relax she enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking and doing anything outside.

Wes Mills is Executive Producer for AgDay and U.S. Farm Report where he’s responsible for the editorial content of the show. Before joining Farm Journal in May 2007, Wes worked as the Assistant News Director at WNDU-TV, South Bend, Indiana. His television career has also taken him to Milwaukee, WI, Moline, IL (the Quad Cities), and Fort Smith, AR. Wes and his wife Carol have three children. When they’re not working, Wes and Carol enjoy digging into the dirt in their ever-expanding flower gardens.

Jim Dickrell is the editor Dairy Herd Management and is based in Monticello, Minn. He has 27 years of publication experience, and also operated his family’s Wisconsin family dairy farm for three years following graduation from the University of Wisconsin—River Falls. He also holds a Masters Degree from Hamline University, St. Paul, Minn.
