Tyson Foods' CFO Found Intoxicated And Asleep In Random Home

Tyson Foods’ Chief Financial Officer, John R. Tyson, 32, was arrested early Sunday morning as he was found intoxicated and asleep in someone else’s home, a local news source reports.

The owner of the house returned home around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6, to find Tyson, whom she did not know, asleep in bed.

The homeowner told the dispatchers she believes to have left the front door unlocked, which allowed Tyson to gain entry. Police located Tyson in a back bedroom and identified him through his driver’s license.

While attempting to wake Tyson to speak, police reported he could not verbally respond, had the smell of alcohol on this breath and his movements were sluggish and uncoordinated.

He was arrested with Criminal Trespass and Public Intoxication charges and spent the rest of the night in the Washington County Detention Center in Fayetteville, Ark.

Recently appointed to the CFO position, Tyson also serves as executive vice president of the company. He’s the son of the company’s chairman, John H. Tyson and the great-grandson of founder John W. Tyson.

According to the local news source, Derek Burleson, a spokesperson for Tyson Foods, claimed the company is aware of the incident, called it a “personal matter” and had no additional comment.
