Gardiner Angus Ranch’s 45th annual sale grossed $8,007,500 on Saturday, April 6, at the ranch marketing center near Ashland, Kansas. Five-hundred-sixty-three bidders registered with 264 buyers from 31 states and Mexico.
The sale offered 670 total lots for an average of $9,173 per lot. Lot 1, GAR Powercat, sold to Bill Wasden, Millen, Georgia, for $520,000. Steve Hillhouse, Hillhouse Angus, LaGrange, Texas, had the winning bid on Lot 2, GAR Peerless, at $75,000.
A total of 236 20-month-old bulls sold for an average of $12,856 per head and totaled $3,034,000. For the 136 head of 16–18-month-old bulls bids averaged $10,938 each and totaled $1,487,500. Together the total of 372 bulls averaged $12,154.
Forty-eight donor heifers averaged $12,604 and 26 3-N-1 pairs averaged $11,327. Fifty-three bred cows averaged $9,670 and 142 bred heifers averaged $8,018.
Six bred commercial cows brought $3,500 each, and 232 bred commercial heifers sold for $3,942 per head. View complete sale results here.
