Beef Profit Tracker: Choice Steer Prices Holding Steady, Down to $230.56/cwt.

A modest gain on the Beef Cutout to $388.64/cwt. from $385.34/cwt. the previous week coupled with Choice steer prices holding steady to down slightly at $230.56/cwt. left packer margins in the black for the first week since September of last year.

Sterling estimate for beef packer margins was $36 per head last week. At the same feeding margins averaged an estimated $620 per head in a solid demand driven market.
