Beef Profit Tracker: 5-Area Direct Steer Price Higher To Average $239.34

With Memorial Day weekend behind us and Father’s Day and July 4th in front of us, demand in the face of record high beef prices has yet to faze consumers.

In last week’s market, the Beef Comprehensive Cutout value remained unchanged from the prior week averaging $360.88 while the 5-Area Direct Steer Price advanced nearly $6/cwt to average $239.34.

Packer margins fell to - $257/head while feeding margins averaged an estimated $757/head against an estimated breakeven of $210.80.
