A manager of a Cabell County, W. Va., meat processing shop says 10 cattle belonging to customers have been stolen from the shop’s livestock pens.
Media outlets report several customers had dropped off the cattle at Nelson’s Meat Market in Milton over the weekend. Shop manager Rick Stepp discovered the thefts on Monday.
Stepp says employees determined the animals didn’t wander off and that a break-in occurred. The Cabell County sheriff’s department is investigating. The cattle collectively are worth up to $16,000.
Shop owner Andy Nelson is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of those involved in the theft.
