USDA released their March Cattle on Feed report this afternoon (U.S. Cattle on Feed Down 3%).

There were no big surprises in the Cattle on Feed Report, says Ron Plain, University of Missouri extension economist.

“The most interesting thing in the cattle markets today is what happened this week in the cash markets,” Plain says. “We’re looking at fed cattle prices this week since October 2008.

“Prices are headed in the right way for cattle producers.”
