Jarod Creed is the owner of JC Marketing Services, LLC based in Waterloo, IA working with producers and firms across the Midwest. Creed specializes in education and development of executing margin-based marketing plans for producers that brings together all inputs and outputs. Creed is the former Senior Director of Customer Risk Management of Gavilon Group, LLC, a leading commodity management firm. Creed developed and led a new Gavilon organization called Gavilon Producer Solutions. Prior to joining Gavilon, Creed served as a Senior Account Representative for The Anderson’s., where he provided risk management services for large scale clients and mentored originators in both Nebraska and Iowa. Prior to working with The Anderson’s, Creed was a Grain Marketing Specialist at Team Marketing Alliance in central Kansas. The culmination of this experience has resulted in Creed’s specialized skills enabling many industry participants to provide industry leading risk management services by leveraging readily available information the changing grain network provides. Creed is currently sits on the board of the National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA) International Trade and Agriculture Policy Committee and a “Big” in the Big Brother, Big Sister Organization of the Midlands. Creed attended Bethany College in Lindsborg, KS where he studied Business Management. Creed also proudly served the United States in the Air National Guard of which he was deployed on several missions.

Max Thornsberry, D.V.M., is R-CALF USA’s President of the Board of Directors and Region VI Director. Thornsberry is the owner and manager of TNT Cattle Co., a certified feeder calf preconditioning enterprise, as well as Avanco Feeds, a veterinary and nutrition firm that serves beef, dairy, swine and companion animal owners in central Missouri.

Paul is a 30-year veteran of the Chicago commodity markets, trading livestock and dairy products, as well as grains and oil seeds. Mr. Nelson has worked with and developed extensive relationships with some of the largest livestock and dairy producers in the world, as well as numerous fortune 100 companies. Paul received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University; and his BA/Finance from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas and is now a director/VP of EHedger.

Leon and Jennifer Knirk farm approximately 2,000 acres of corn, soybeans and wheat in south-central Michigan, near Coldwater. In addition, they own and manage a 500-head, Holstein feeder-to-finish operation. The Knirks like to evaluate marketing, technology and production practices that can take their farming operation to higher levels of success. This year, Leon is assessing the value of vertical tillage and devoting a 75-acre corn plot to that purpose. He also is evaluating variable rate seeding and used it to plant 1,200 acres of corn this past spring and also last year. The Knirks are the proud parents of two sons, Lincoln and Logan.
