Cargill plans to resume slaughtering cattle on Friday at its Dodge City, Kan., beef plant, after weekend rains caused a partial roof collapse, Reuters reports.
No one was injured in the collapse, the company said.
Local news sources report the area got more than 4 inches of rain in a short period.
Structural engineers helped stabilize the roof and the company implemented contingency plans to resume operations as soon as possible, the article said.
One of four major U.S. beef processors, Cargill is using its broad supply chain to minimize disruptions to customers and livestock producers, according to Reuters.
The company noted that the Kansas plant resumed operations on Tuesday on its fabrication floor.
