Beef Today announces a partnership with Dan Thomson, DVM, and the Beef Cattle Institute at Kansas State University to produce two new educational and training events.

For cattlemen, the new Cowboy College provides hands-on training for feedlot team members who are responsible for animal health and well-being. Held near Omaha, Neb., on Sept. 9-10, 2014, the Cowboy College will be taught by Thomson—known throughout the industry as Dr. Dan—and invited professionals.

Beef Today’s Beef Boot Camp, designed for foodservice and retail professionals, will provide a comprehensive overview of beef production, quality assurance and beef safety protocols. Held Aug. 6-8, 2014, near Denver, Colo., this one-of-a-kind training will provide a full-immersion experience.

Dr. Dan, a third-generation bovine veterinarian, is director of the Beef Cattle Institute and an internationally recognized expert and leader in the cattle industry. He teaches courses in production medicine, welfare and nutrition.
