After a small dip last week to $132.30 per hundredweight, the 5-Area Accumulated Average Cattle Price jumped back up to $133.24 per hundredweight.
The panel of cattle industry experts who make up our Monday Market Sentiment were pretty close with a prediction of $132.40 per hundredweight. This week, they slightly increased their estimation to $132.51 per hundredweight.
Choice boxed beef saw falls throughout the week, starting Jan. 12 at $235.18 per hundredweight, and ending Jan. 18 on $231.28 per hundredweight. The drop moved the 27-day average to $212.26 per hundredweight.
