Several wildfires burned more than 30,000 acres in western Oklahoma over the weekend. The largest wildfire, called the 412 Fire, started about 1 p.m. Saturday and local officials ordered the evacuation of Beaver and Forgan in Beaver County.
The fire in the Oklahoma Panhandle was approximately 160 miles northeast of Amarillo. Beaver County has about 5,000 residents. On Sunday the Oklahoma Forestry Services was still trying to determine how many buildings were lost of damaged in the fire.
High wind and low humidity in the area made for high fire risk Saturday and Sunday.
