Authorities in Lincoln County, Nevada, are seeking information regarding the starving death of six cattle locked in a corral southeast of Las Vegas with no food or water. A $10,000 reward was announced Monday by Sheriff Kerry Lee, who said the incident happened in the Tule Spring area sometime around the first week of December, 2019.
According to news reports, Lee said at least one person intentionally locked the cattle into the corral, which caused the cattle to starve because winter weather prevented the rancher from traveling to the pasture. During the time when the rancher could not get to the area, someone purposely closed and locked the gate to the corral.
When the rancher returned once the weather cleared just before Christmas, he found the dead cattle.
Sheriff Lee says that the area of Tule Springs is popular for hunting and recreation, adding that there were hunters in the area around the time of the incident.
