AgDay: Two Storms in the Fertilizer Industry

Two storms -- one natural and one financial -- but together they could create some real problems for farmers trying to lock in their fertilizer expenses. Several fertilizer companies are feeling the impact of the tropical storms. They import raw materials in hurricane-ravaged ports, like Galveston, Texas. Add to that, the financial upheaval we saw last week on Wall Street, and that may make it difficult for fertilizer dealers looking for credit.
