I am the regional Coordinator for Farm Boy Energy, to our knowledge we are the only company that sells small wind and medium wind turbines to farmers to allow them to lock in their energy cost and to be able not only to harvest crops but also the wind. I am 30 years old and I am from Gallatin Missouri originally. I moved to Iowa in 1999 where I preside today. I work very closely with farmers all over the Midwest, and educate people on the difference between my company and the big wind farms that are popping up all over the United States. Kent Wagoner grew up on a central Iowa century family farm. After college, he made the difficult decision to move out west where his wife’s family is centered. A stint working on the irrigated farms of the Treasure Valley of southwest Idaho led to a number of years in the vegetable seed industry. Spending over 10 years in the University of Idaho Agricultural Research and Extension Service has taught him about not only the difficulties of ag research, but also some of the hurdles of making the connection from research to production agriculture.
