Holidays are out of our way, but packers have begun their fall cooler cleanings. This rotation will keep at least one plant running short for several weeks and will continue to keep fed cattle harvest to a minimum.

Cattle feeders in the South saw a continuation of the last several weeks. Cargill again came out at $124 keeping the market steady. Later in the week feeders saw National and JBS throw out some $123 bids followed by Tyson who chose to jump in at $124.

The North continued to see a small decline in their market. Cash trade was mostly $124-$126 and dressed cattle bringing in the upper 190’s.

Fed cattle harvest continues to run behind. We have holidays out of our way, but packers have begun their fall cooler cleanings. This rotation will keep at least one plant running short for several weeks and will continue to keep fed cattle harvest to a minimum.
