Cattle feeders saw participation by all packers in last week’s market. That helped keep the market steady at $137. There was some cattle that traded lower but steady caught most of the trade in the South.

Feeders in the North saw a mostly steady trade also. Bids of $137 dominated the cash trade with $218 being the dominate dressed price.

This week will continue to hinge on how many workers show up at the processing plants. If most plants continue to get workers back, then harvest numbers will continue to increase, leaving packers needing more cattle.
