19th Annual Gardiner Angus Ranch Fall Sale Sets New Record
Four Gardiner Angus Ranch auctions annually offer beef producers flexibility in buying registered bull and females and elite bred commercial females that fit their environments at a time it best fits their operations.
On Monday, Sept. 25, GAR sold a total of 933 head to 171 buyers from 25 states and Mexico. Three-hundred-fifty-five bidders were registered to bid in person, on LiveAuctions.tv, and Superior. See complete sale results here.
Advancements in genomic tools and the ability to objectively apply selection pressure through AI and ET over decades result in the production of elite Angus cattle. GAR Home Run, Lot 1, is a product of these advancements. Home Run led off a frenzy of bidders to start the sale. Commercial cattleman, Justin Busenlehner, Ballinger, Texas, outlasted bidders on the seats, online and on telephones to become the new owner, in partnership with Gardiner Angus Ranch and Select Sires on a winning bid of $350,000.
Lots 4 and 6, GAR Transcendent E62 and GAR Home Town 215P sold to the partnership of Katie Blunk, Lazy KT Ranch, Freedom, Okla., and Randall and Michelle Spare, RMS Cattle, LLC, Ashland, Kan.; and Joe Chadic, Graft Farms, Ennis, Texas, for $30,000 each respectively.
Overall, 378 bulls averaged $8,741, including 222 head of 18-month-old registered bulls at $9,964 and 156 head of 14-month-old registered bulls at $7,000.
Twenty-five registered bred cows averaged $5,220 and 63 registered bred heifers averaged $7,484.
Six bred commercial cows sold for $33,100 each and 381 bred commercial heifers averaged $2,909 each.
The sale grossed $5,245,650 on 933 head for an average of $5,622.
