Average Cost of a 4th of July Cookout is Down Compared to Last Year

You might save some money on your big 4th of July barbecue this year. The American Farm Bureau reporting the average cost of a summer cookout for 10 people comes in at $59.50, or less than $6 per person.

That's down 16 cents from last year, but 8% higher compared to 2019. The biggest price increase is with strawberries. Two pints of strawberries came in at $5.30, which is up 22% from last year, due to strong demand and weather events.
