Gardiner Angus Ranch “Early Bird” Bull Sale Results
Gardiner Angus Ranch’s “Early Bird” bull sale – held at the ranch January 27, 2020 – saw 186 Angus bulls sell for an average of $6,836. Gardiner’s also sold 108 bred commercial Angus heifers for an average of $2,073 per head. View the full sale report.
While the top two bulls sold for $75,000 and $40,000, respectively, 33% of the bulls in the sale sold from $4,500 to $5,000. Eighty-two buyers from 18 states and Mexico purchased cattle at the sale.
Two bull categories were offered: Sixty-one 20-month-old bulls averaged $7,205 per head; One hundred twenty-five 17-month-old bulls averaged $6,656 per head.
Gardiner Angus Ranch holds four sales each year to “provide spring and fall calving operations equal opportunity to make genetic selections based on their selection criteria and timely need for herd bulls.”
Gardiner Angus Ranch is a family-owned ranching operation near Ashland, Kansas, which records, measures and documents genetic merit on more than 5,000 Angus cattle each year.
The 41st Gardiner Angus Ranch Annual Production Sale will be held April 3-4, 2020, at the ranch. The ranch’s 5th annual “Meeting Demand” bull sale will be held May 11, 2020.
