In an attempt to generate leads in a case growing colder each day, the reward for information about a large cattle rustling event has been increased a third time. The Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association now offers a cash reward of $25,000 for information that can help solve one of the largest cattle rustling cases in recent memory. Along with $1,000 offered by Crime Stoppers of Wichita Falls for information on the cattle theft, the potential payout is $26,000 for tipsters.

According to TSCRA special rangers, rustlers stole 489 steers from a ranch near Wichita Falls, Tex., sometime between November of 2018 and August of 2019. TSCRA investigators said the steers were stolen on Bryant Edwards Road from a large ranch in eastern Clay County. The Angus-Charolais crossbred steers are valued at $735,000 and each steer had a brand on the left hip.

The missing steers are estimated to weigh 800 to 1,000 pound each, and the rancher did not discover the cattle were stolen until shipping time because he operates a large ranch.
