“The beginning of 2016, big picture, has been overly bearish. You look at energies, crude, natural gas, heating oil. You look at equities, not only domestic but foreign,” says Craig VanDyke, Top Third Ag Marketing. “Big-picture-wise, we’re looking at weakness across all markets, and cattle are one of the more susceptible ones to the outside markets as far as equities go. … The old saying is, ‘Cattle is only as good as the Dow [Jones].’”
