BIF Honors Craig Huffhines
Craig Huffhines helped launch the Certified Hereford Beef branded program, and went on to become executive vice president of the American Hereford Association (AHA) in 1997. During his tenure, Huffhines oversaw implementation of AHA’s Whole Herd Total Performance Records (TPR™) program, which requires breeders to report every cow and calf, greatly strengthening the Hereford database.
In recognition of his service to the industry, and cattle breeding in particular, the Beef Improvement Federation (BIF) honored Huffhines with one of its 2018 BIF Pioneer Awards during the annual BIF Research Conference.
The other Pioneer Award honorees at this year’s conference were Colorado State University veterinarian Tim Holt and animal scientist Mark Thallman, from Texas A&M University.
