Fed Cattle Steady, Calves Higher
Cash fed cattle prices traded at $119 per cwt., steady with last week. Dressed sales occurred at $188 per cwt., $1 higher.
Steer and heifer prices at auctions across the country were quoted by Agricultural Marketing Service as steady to $5 higher, with instances of $10 higher. AMS reporters said year-to-date auction receipts for 2018 are the largest since 2011.
Choice beef cutout closed at $210.96 per cwt., $3.33 lower for the week. Select beef traded at $203.14, $2.64 higher for the week. The Choice-Select spread was $7.82.
