Washington wildfires impacting ranchers

Cattle ranchers are working to save their herds as more than 1,000 square miles of wildfires burn in Washington. In Omak, Washington, the Ag Tech Feed Store is attempting to help ranchers stay in business by helping ranchers coordinate cattle evacuations, reports Anna King for NPR.

Ranchers have lost animals, barns, pasture and winter haystacks to the wildfires and Ag Tech Feed Store owners Monte and Laurie Andrews have had their store serve as a communications hub in the community. "We're trying to make sure that these cattle are fed, that these ranch families don't lose their livelihood that we can keep them going," Monte Andres told King.
