A new consumer and industry focused website has been launched to help promote veal. The new Veal Made Easy website was launched on April 30 and announced by the North American Meat Institute, on behalf of the Beef Checkoff.
The website improves on previous efforts to support veal by offering a simple user experience, easy navigation and upgraded mobile performance.
“Consumers are increasingly turning to mobile and digital platforms for information about the food they eat,” says Eric Mittenthal, vice president of sustainability at the North American Meat Institute, a contractor to the Beef Checkoff. “The revamped website provides a centralized digital platform for information consumers seek, including convenient, delicious veal recipes; ways to prepare and serve veal; and steps the industry takes to ensure the health and well-being of veal calves.”
Featured on the site is an extensive library of recipes, images and how-to cooking videos which have been categorized for easy browsing. The veal recipes were revamped to appeal to the tastes of younger consumers by using globally inspired recipes.
There is also a feature on the website to help consumers find a local veal retailer called “Where to Buy Veal.”
Additionally, veal producers will have access to cut charts, cooking methods, nutritional information and an easy-to-use resource section that will help in promoting veal.
