National Beef Packing Company announced it will begin a $30 million project to expand capacity of its Moultrie, Georgia, plant to produce consumer-ready beef products. The expansion will add about 100 jobs.

National Beef’s Moultrie consumer ready operation now employs about 300 workers. The new project includes a facility expansion and a new processing and packaging equipment. The project’s expected completion is the fourth quarter of 2018.
National Beef employs about 8,300 people in five locations. The company processes fresh beef, consumer ready products and beef by-products. With global distribution, in fiscal year 2016, National Beef generated sales of $7.2 billion.
