Grilling season is just getting started as springtime weather brings in warmer temperatures before the big summer push in retail beef sales. For this reason cattle producers celebrate Beef Month every May to help inform consumers about nutrient packed beef.
Cattle producers, beef councils and state governors around the country are helping get the annual celebration to beef kicked off sharing pictures and facts about beef production.
Here is a sampling of the social media posts that we found about #BeefMonth:

Its Kansas Beef Month! Join us in thanking the ranchers who produce the largest agriculture commodity in Kansas. Fun Fact: the average steer will produce 500 pounds of meat – enough to eat a serving of beef at breakfast, lunch and dinner for 667 days! #KansasBeefMonth pic.twitter.com/1budTf8Wbe— Kansas Dept of Ag (@KansasDeptofAg) May 1, 2019
Happy #BeefMonth. 🥩 . Today is a day to celebrate and thank everyone involved in the #beefcommunity - Those who help bring beef from pasture to plate. . Our operations could not run without veterinarians, nutritionists, professional cowboys, cattle haulers, those who work in feedyards, processing plants, restaurants and grocery stores. Along with business owners and their employees who provide feed, seed, and services for farmers and ranchers. . With the help of those mentioned above, we are able to provide families with multiple ways to enjoy a nutrient dense product at a price that won’t break the bank. 👏🏼 . . . #ranching #mayday #pasturetoplate #midwest #cattletales #tippingtbarranch

Beef – it’s more than what’s for dinner. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Beef is our livelihood. It’s our passion. It’s what lights our fire and gets us out of bed in the morning. It’s our calling. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s also a thankless job,on occasion. It’s the heartache and devastation that come when we have blizzards in May, years of drought, and other events that are beyond our control. But we’re a stubborn bunch and we love what we do. Because it’s also bearing witness to some of God’s greatest gifts. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s watching a wobbly calf get up for the first time and witnessing your children learn and grow in their passion for our way of life. It’s knowing that caring for the land and livestock, and bringing delicious nutritious beef to tables across this country and abroad is so much bigger than ourselves. So, we keep at it every day – rain, shine, sleet, or snow. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As this Beef Month begins (and really, all year round), I am asking you to think of us – the farmers and ranchers raising beef here in Nebraska and across the country. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Think of us when you’re standing at your grocer’s meat case trying to decide which package of beef to buy because there are so many options to choose from. Think of us at the next backyard barbecue when beef is on the menu. Think of us when you’re enjoying a taste bud tantalizing T-bone at that fancy steakhouse you’ve always wanted to try. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And most importantly, think of us when you have questions about what we do – questions about beef. Then seek us out and ask us those questions. We’re here. And we’re happy to help because beef is more than just a big deal. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A version of this was originally published on @herviewfromhome ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #beefmonth #nebraskasandhills #ranchlife #cattletales #thegoodlife #liveauthentic #nebraskalife #faithfamilyandbeef #imomsohard #momlifebelike
